Rhythms of Change: North Carolina's Música Latina

Mexican Regional Music

The labor migration from Mexico has spawned a Mexican regional music scene in North Carolina that is notable for its scope and variety.

Expressions of Mexican regional music are performed in venues ranging from large auditoriums where established groups play Norteña music to the family gatherings and ceremonies where the musical flavors of Mexico’s other regions can be heard.
